WILLIAMSBURG - Michael O. Marks passed away on April 4, 2016 after a four-year battle with cancer. Michael was born in Newport News, Virginia on June 20, 1946 to the late Oren K. and Marian A. Marks. He was a graduate of St. Vincent High School, Class of 1964. He retired from Old Point National Bank as a Senior Vice President, was a former member of Hampton Rotary Club, and was an avid outdoorsman. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two brothers, James and John Marks of Williamsburg; three daughters, Gina Wilburn (Tom) of Gloucester, VA, Kelly Birchfield (Ron deceased) of West Point, VA, Casey Bellman (Justin) of Aberdeen, NC; five grandsons, Ryan Martin, Kamren and Kyle Stewart, Alex Birchfield, and Kooper Bellman; two granddaughters, Haley Birchfield, Kennedy Bellman; step-daughter, Melody Seely (Jason); step-grandsons, Austin and Asher Seely. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Marks Trust Fund at Peninsula Catholic High School for scholarships.

Michael you were a wonderful boss n an even more wonderful person. I moved out of Virginia awhile ago after I left Old Point so I was not there when u passed. I thought about u today n I decided to send u a message. I remember your smile n the way u loved to gross me out with your love for raw steak at lunch time Lol. Michael and I played basketball together at St Vincent's. He was always a fun person to be around. I am so glad I got see him at the pre_fifty reunion. I know he will be missed by so many. May God bless and care for his family and friends..

I am so sorry for your loss. I went to grade school and high school with Michael and then we were BITTER rivals when we all bowled on the Banks Bowling League. Aaah such fond memories. Mike and his family were my back door neighbor in Carisbrooke, Carrollton Virginia during the 80's. We had a great time, ooow so many stories I can tell. May God be with his family during this time of grieving.

Barbara, Jimmy, Johnny, Gina, Kelly, Casey and all Michael's Love Ones.I was so saddened to hear the news about your loss last night when my Father called me.
I grew up with Michael and his family all my childhood years living across the street from them. After high school I went to work for Michael at First Federal Savings and Loan, where I worked for him for 10 years. He was the BEST Boss and Friend anyone could ask for, so many wonderful memories. Michael loved his family very much they were the most important people in the world to him.

I worked with Michael for many years at Bay Savings. We had many laughs. Although I have not him since his Old Point days, he has been in my thoughts. I am sure that all who knew him including his Carisbrooke neighbors will miss him.

A funny guy with an infectious laugh and a twinkle in his eyes. Mike was always up for fun. I've known Mike since high school and the old neighborhood. We played pranks on each other but he was always a good friend and fun to be with. We stayed in touch off and on through the years. I miss you buddy.

I am saddened to hear of Micchael's passing. I worked with him in Williamsburg developing a mortgage portfolio many years ago. I loved his life view and his sense of humor. IWe are better for haunt known him. My condolences to his family.
