Morton Emory Clarke

REGENT - Morton Emory Clarke of Regent, owner and operator of Morton E. Clarke Marine Railway, died Thursday, July 12, 2001. He was born Oct. 26, 1911, at Regent. He attended Randolph Macon Academy at Front Royal and was a member of Lower United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Garland Clarke; two nieces, Ann Worthington Dennen of Radnor, Pa., and Olivia Moore Griebel of Poquoson; three nephews, James Christian Moore Jr. of Fairfield, N.C., and Carroll Garland Moore and Harold Emory Moore, both of Poquoson; three great-nieces; and six great-nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lower United Methodist Church, Hartfield. Interment will be in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Topping.
