I met Patsy as a fellow therapist in Richmond, VA through an intensive training program at the Family Institute of Virginia. She was an artist of the heart. When I walked into her kitchen full of skillfully designed woven baskets, I recognized her as an artist who savored the beauty of the practical. Like her basket weaving, she appreciated the spaces of emptiness and need in those she treated. She could artfully convert the emptiness of a basket, or a soul, to serve not just a purpose, but as a spiritual and life enriching well-spring. I'm sure she brought this same sensitivity, depth, and caring to her hospitality services. She demonstrated her art through her career. She was an artist in healing and hospitality. I feel honored to call Patsy a professional colleague. She will be remembered fondly by many in the therapeutic community of Richmond.

I had the pleasure of working with Patsy at the Partnership for People with Disabilities at VCU. Patsy's competence, compassion, and energy were evident in everything she did, serving to improve the lives of many individuals with disabilities and their families. My deepest condolences to family and friends. May Patsy's name be for a blessing.
