Ralph Balochi Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Ralph Edward Balochi, 80, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.
He was born in Roanoke and had been a lifetime area resident. Ralph retired from the C&O Railroad as an engineer in 1965 and later owned and operated several businesses locally. Ralph enjoyed people around him and helped anyone who needed it.
Survivors include his wife, Cathryn Balochi; one son, Ronald Balochi of Newport News; a sister-in-law, Helen Thomas of Bedford; and two nieces, Nancy Johnson of Bedford, and Cindy Hodges of Cripple Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angus and Dovie Balochi; a brother, Rodney Nester; and a sister, Thelma Pollard.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. All other arrangements will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

HI Cathryn & Ronnie, I'll never forget all the good things Ralph did for me he was surport for me when dad passed. He taught me things that i'll never forget i could go on and on. My thoughts are with you.
