Richard Gray Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Richard M. Gray, 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Newport News. A native of Petersburg, he resided in Newport News most of his life. He was employed by VDOT-Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and retired in 1989 after 34 years of service. He was a beloved brother and uncle. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Doris Gray; two brothers, Kenneth R. Gray and Norman F. Gray Jr.; and sister, Marion Hogge. He is survived by three brothers, Preston A. Gray of Hampton, Gerald F. Gray of Washington, D.C., and R. Wayne Gray of Hampton; several nieces and one nephew. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in Hampton Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Bert Rait. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Riverside Funeral Home. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home.
