Richard WINDLEY Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Richard Eugene 'Gene' Windley, 70, died on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
He was born in Washington, N.C., and was raised in Newport News, Va. He graduated from Newport News High School, in 1960, and was a graduate of Christopher Newport College. He was the son of the late Jack and Helen Windley. Gene retired from Liebherr American, in 2010, after 35 years of service as service manger and was a member of James River Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Windley; daughter, Kimberly Roberson of Woodbridge, Va.; son, Tyler Windley of Gloucester; and his grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 , at Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va.

I only met him once, but I knew from my wonderful friendship with you, Pam, and from how much I adored you, Tyler, that he had to be a fabulous guy simply because his wife and son were so fabulous.
