Ruby Byrd Obituary
Ruby was a long time member of First Baptist Church East End. She furthered her career goals at Thomas Nelson Community College and retired from Riverside Hospital Radiology Department. Ruby loved reading her bible, gardening, fishing, and spending time with family far and near.
Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie S. Byrd; her parents; brothers, Joe Frank and Ernest Edward; sisters, Josephine Davis, Bessie Brown, Allean Douglas and Katie Brown; granddaughter, Monica Williams.
Ruby is survived by daughters, Hester Scott and Sylvia Williams (Monroe Sr.); grandsons, Monroe Williams Jr. (Sherice), Ivory Williams (Darrel) and Charlie Williams; granddaughter, Mary Williams of Amherst NY; great grandchildren, Tyrell Williams, Tamaje Williams, Jada Jessie of Amherst NY, Amia Williams of Amherst NY, Aaron Williams and Aubrey Williams; brother-in-law, Isaac Byrd (Emily) of Linden NC; sister-in-law, Roxanna McKeithan of Queens NY; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Viewing will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Dafford Funeral Home in Dunn, North Carolina.
