He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Fredrick and Cheryl Clayton; sister, Shaundra McBride and fiancé, James Marshall; loving niece, Alexandria Hedgepeth; his grandparents, William and Ethel Washington; other loving family members and many caring friends.

It has taken me some time to actually write anything at all... but I felt that I must. You know, you never think that you will have to say goodbye to a person of youth soon. We often think of death as being for someone that has live a long life. I will miss my cousin. There is no reason for this death. I thank God for Shawns' short life. Words are inadequate to express our sadness at hearing of Shawn's passing. We pray that the Lord will keep you in His tender care and comfort and strengthen you during this time. Bobby and I saw Shawn at the post office a couple of years ago - he recognized us and gave me a hug. We were reminded of how he used to love to walk our dog,"Buddie"! Our "kids" from Nelson Farms grew up so quickly, yet they remain dear to our hearts! May God be with you and keep you and your family.
