Verdell WHITE Obituary
He is survived by a devoted wife, Linda White, West Point, Va.; three daughters, Robin White Bowles, Chesterfield, Va., Lanelle Jamison, Port Norfolk, Va., Leanne White, West Point, Va.; five sons, Brian Jamison, Sterling, Va., Allen White, West Point, Va., James Jackson Jr., Chester, Va., Walter Jackson, Petersburg, Va., Wayne Jackson, Petersburg, Va.; one sister, Linda Medley, Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Central High School, King & Queen, Va. Informal viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, at White-Tidewater Funeral Home, Jamaica, Va., with formal visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. at 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist, Church, Little Plymouth, Va.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to America Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research or 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

There are no words that can express or ease the pain right now. Mr. White was always a cheerful person and I will alway remember the are and pride he took ensuring my mother (Virginia Smith) demands were met. Mr. White is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Please accept my condolences.

I am just now learning of Mr. White's passing. So sorry to have missed his services. I remember so well my years at WPHS and the White family was always a positive part of my experience there. Verdell was always willing to help.

We remember him at a basketball game at West Point High holding his grand baby and she would not let go of him. He was experiencing such joy. Mr. White will surely be missed. I used to serve him at Shoney's in Tappahannock, Virginia. I also attented a number of services he handled at Union Hope Church in Ino,Virgina. He always conducted himself in a very professional way. I told him once if I died before he did I wanted him to handle me. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Mr. White was a great man and will be missed by many. Because West Point is such a small place a lot of times the community can feel like a large family.
