September 3, 1934 - June 13, 2022
Adele Timberlake Quarles, 87, of Louisa, departed this life to begin her new life with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022.
Adele attended Louisa Training School where she graduated with honors. She worked for Louisa County Public Schools and retired after 36 years of employment. She was well known in the community and served in various civic organizations including the Order of Eastern Star. She has been a lifelong member of the County Line Baptist Church, serving in many roles including Junior Missionary Leader for 25 years; Sunbeam Choir participant as a youth; Financial Secretary for 12 years as an adult, and a deaconess for over 40 years. All who knew her would say she was not ashamed to declare that she loved the Lord!
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Quarles; her parents, Wesley and Amanda Timberlake; sister, Clara Bland, and brother, Leroy Timberlake. Adele is survived by her brother, Lonnie Ray Dickerson (Annette) and children, Carolyn McCray (Gregory) of Louisa, Tracie Daniels (Wilbur) of Glen Allen, and Tony Quarles of Covington. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Jami Curry (Chris), Jordan Jackson (Whitney), Joshua Daniels, John Daniels, Hannah Daniels, Dana Quarles, and Tori Broadnax and her great-grandchildren, Claire Curry, Jordan Zachary, and Reagan Sarai.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church, in Charlottesville, Va. (105 Lankford Ave), at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Galilee Baptist Church, Kents Store, Va. (3598 Three Notch Road). The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. in The Sun Chapel at D.D. Watson, Louisa. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.ddwatsonlouisa.com.
