Aidan Peters Obituary

Aidan Patrick Peters of Charlottesville, Va., passed away at home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, surrounded in love and laughter by family and friends, after a courageous 22-month battle with Ewing Sarcoma. He was 18 years old.

Aidan was born on January 25, 2005 to Adam and Rebecca Peters. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved sister, Fiona; grandmother, Ramona Peters of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; grandfather, Joseph Tamony (Joyce Morden), of Port Angeles, Wash.; aunts, Ellen Funk and Laura Peters (Patrick Gordon) of Chicago, Ill.; uncles, Mark Peters (Mary Peters), of Chicago, Ill., Mike Tamony of Portsmouth, Va., and Bill Tamony of Buxton, N.C.; beloved great aunt, Virginia Peters of Chicago, Ill.; as well as his dear cousins and countless friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sandra Tamony, and his grandfather, George Peters.

Aidan adored his family and friends and spent his free time perfecting his pitching skills or walking his beloved dog, Mylo. He was known for his great taste in music and film and possessed an almost encyclopedic knowledge of movies. Given a map, he could identify every country in the world. He wanted to study environmental science in college and eventually work for the National Park Service.

A celebration of Aidan's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church of Charlottesville with Reverend Colleen Swingle-Titus of Park Street Christian Church presiding. Visitation and viewing will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon afterwards in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, Aidan's family and friends are raising funds to install lights at the Central Little League baseball diamond at Pen Park in his honor. Donations can be made out to Central Little League (memo line: Aidan Peters) and mailed to Llezelle Dugger at 428 2nd Street NE, Charlottesville, VA 22902.

Condolences may be shared with his family at www.hillandwood.com.

My husband and I did not have the pleasure of knowing Aidan but we were saddened to read of his passing and touched to read about his young life.

We are making a donation to the Central Little League of $400 ($100 for each base on the diamond) to help pay for lights on the field in his honor. May his memory be a blessing to his family.
