Alexander Lee Hahn, 28, of Charlottesville, VA., passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Alexander was born on July 3, 1995, in Charlottesville, VA. He attended Albemarle County Public Schools and was a graduate of Western Albemarle High School. He continued his education by receiving an Associate's degree in Business Administration from Piedmont Virginia Community College in 2016 and later received a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech in 2020.
A talented violinist, Alexander's musical journey began at the Music Education Center. He was a member of the Youth Orchestra of Charlottesville Albemarle and held the prestigious 1st chair position in the Western Albemarle High School Orchestra. He also performed with the Albemarle Symphony Orchestra of Crozet, VA.
Alexander had a deep knowledge of geopolitics and an interest in political science. He enjoyed learning and encouraged others to reach their highest potential.
Throughout the years, Alexander participated in rowing, running, and ski clubs and was a member of the Wintergreen race team. For fun he enjoyed video gaming with his friends. He shared an annual ski trip out west with his brother, Dylan, and formed lasting friendships while working at Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards during high school and college.
Professionally, Alexander excelled in the field of software engineering. He served as a Principal Associate Software Engineer at Capital One and previously worked at UDig, Willowtree, Excella Consulting, and United Health Group.
Alexander's brilliance, unwavering support, and dedication to making the world a better place will be cherished and remembered.
Alexander is survived by his parents, Linda and Gordon; siblings, Dylan, and Heidi; grandparents, Elbert Dale and Erika Hahn; uncles, Kelvin Dale (Davey) and Mike (Suzanne), Ingold, Simeon (Loretta), and Nick (Sara) Hahn; and extended family in the U.S. and Australia, Germany, and Switzerland. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Eric Lee Hahn; paternal grandfather, Dr. Walter Hahn; and his maternal grandmother, Irene Dale.
A memorial service is planned for those who knew and loved him on November 12, 2023 at 6 p.m. at 5022 Plank Road, North Garden, VA 22959.
