Allen Leiter

November 11, 1945 - September 22, 2024

Allen Leiter, of Keswick Virginia, passed away on September 22, 2024, at home after a valiant fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Allen was born in Williamsport, Maryland to Roy Allen Leiter, Jr. and Doris Minette McNamara. He is survived by his wife Tina, sister Lindsay Ianello and her husband Peter, brother Michael Leiter and his wife Fran, brother Peter Leiter, daughter Lori Hartle, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and his beloved cats Smokey and Domino.

Allen served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had a diverse career which included working for the County of Albemarle and owning his own business. Allen took great pleasure in listening to music, playing golf, running (including multiple Cville 10-milers), cooking, and was an avid reader. He cherished his many friendships.

A special Thank You to his caregivers and friends who supported him throughout his illness.

In honor of his joy for a good party, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
