Cockrell Eddins Obituary

Patricia Eddins Cockrell, 82, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at her residence. She was born on July 30, 1933, to the late Floyd Eddins and Virginia Davis Eddins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul David Cockrell; one son, Donald Glenn (D.G.)  Cockrell; four brothers, Lewis, Floyd Jr., Thomas, and Keith Eddins.She is survived by her two daughters, Terry J. Cockrell and Karen Tarantino; one son, Paul "David" Cockrell Jr.; two brothers, Donald "Nootsie" Eddins and Edward Eddins; three sisters, Barbara "Whirley" Snow, Page Silver, and Elizabeth Fisher; four grandchildren, Erica Cockrell, Nina Cockrell, Jillian Cockrell, and Matthew Tarantino; a son-in-law, Michael Tarantino; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Cockrell.The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. A private service will be held at a later date.The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont, Home Instead, and Dinah Williamson for the care given to their loved one.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Madison County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 868, Madison, VA 22727 or Madison County Sheriff's Department, P.O. Box 322, Madison, VA 22727.
