David Russell Hutson died suddenly, unexpectedly, and peacefully in his sleep at home in Charlottesville, Virginia just before 7:00 am on February 12, 2015. His loving wife was at his side. He died from cardiac and respiratory complications arising from Marfan Syndrome.David was born January 29, 1973 in Biloxi, Mississippi; he was the son of Robert and Robin Hutson.He also lived in Waipahu, Hawaii 73-75; Tampa, Florida 75-83; Ewing, Kentucky 83-86; Owenton, Kentucky 86-89 and also in Luray, Virginia 89-92. David received his B.A. degree in Philosophy and Religion from Bridgewater College in 1995 and then made Charlottesville, Virginia his home. David married Heidi Rebecca Howard on April 30, 2011. He was the Website Promotions Coordinator for Crutchfield Corporation. David loved to travel, go on adventures, and he appreciated people from all cultures and backgrounds. He had a sharp, reasoned mind, a quick wit, and unique sense of humor. He loved passionately and was a creative soul. In high school and college David studied with and coached the debate and forensic team, managed the radio station, and was an active member of the International Students club.David had a very mature, clearly reasoned Christian Faith and a living relationship with Jesus. He served faithfully as a deacon and home group leader of Christ Community Church in Charlottesville. David loved music, especially Robin Mark, Pink Floyd and U2. He also had a passion for craft beer, coffee roasting, and photography.David was tall, lanky, and handsome. He would eagerly share a warm smile, a friendly conversation or an intellectually stimulating and challenging discussion with anyone he met. He lived well, and is rejoicing to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.David is survived by Heidi (wife), Robin (mother), Robert (father), Rachel Friedman (sister), Gabriel Friedman (brother-in-law), Naomi Friedman (niece), Verna (grandmother), aunts and uncles: Fletcher and Beverley Driscoll, Don and Diana Smith, Rick and Beth Robertson, Russell and Barbara Hutson, Rick Hutson, along with numerous cousins. On his wife's side he is survived by Dr. Wes and Jackie Howard (father-in-law and mother in-law), Jonathan and Laurie Howard (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), and Ethan and David Howard (nephews). Dave was a fiercely loyal friend and will be missed and well-remembered by his family as well as many friends and coworkers.David's memorial service will be this Tuesday, February 17, at 5:30 pm at Christ Community Church, 329 Riverside Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia 22902. A reception at the church will follow immediately after the service. There will be a committal service in the near future, at a place and time to be announced.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Marfan Foundation in David's name: www.marfan.org/get-involved/give/memorial.
