Mildred (Davis) DoddsMildred (Davis) Dodds, 81, of Lake Monticello, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.She was born on March 30, 1933 in Albemarle County, a daughter of the late Chester Murray Davis, Sr. and Nora (Sacre) Davis.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Dodds, Jr. on May 11, 2012; four brothers; and three sisters.Mrs. Dodds worked for Leggett's Department Store for over 33 years where she worked as a buyer. She was a member of the Lake Christian Church in Palmyra and enjoyed yard sales and flea markets.Survivors include a daughter, Debra Gayle Harlow of Palmyra; two sons, Donald Wayne Dodds and wife, Christy of Nahor and James Richard Dodds and wife, Anita of Scottsville; a brother, Robert L. Davis and wife, Nancy of Sumter, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Michelle Dodds, Danielle Taylor and husband, Jerry, Addison Dodds, Chesley Harlow, and Trevor Roach; two great-grandchildren, Summer Rae Taylor and Kaleb Dodds; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and two special friends, Virginia Dorrier and Donna Donaldson.A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home by Pastor Warren Tillman. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville.The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m., Sunday evening, January 18, 2015, at the funeral home.Family and friends may share memories and photos at www.thackerbrothers.com.
