His business, Eklund Videography, gave him the opportunity to document numerous concerts, plays, recitals, weddings, educational, sporting, and cultural events in the greater Charlottesville and surrounding areas, and in North Carolina, for over 20 years. North Carolina's Outer Banks were also a favorite spot for David and his family who enjoyed the beach, camping, and fishing; along with many other family oceanside vacations to locales from the Maine to Florida coasts, always being sure to visit each nearby aquarium with his sons. A service of remembrance officiated by the Rev. Alex McGee is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church, 717 Rugby Road, Charlottesville, Va.
