Elizabeth Caritj Obituary

Elizabeth Luck Caritj, 50, of Charlottesville, died Saturday, November 11, 2006, at her home.

Born in Charlottesville, Virginia on January 13, 1956, she was the daughter of Wilma Anne Larsen and the late James Malcolm Luck Jr.

She was a graduate of Albemarle High School and attended St. Andrews College. The owner of Straydog Antiques, she was one of the creators and dealers at Antics. She loved music, art, and nature and was a writer, photographer, artist, and collector.

Her greatest loves were her children, Anna Elizabeth and Paul James Caritj. In addition to her children, she is survived by her husband, William Caritj; her mother, Wilma Anne Larsen and her husband, Jean L. Larsen; her sister, Katherine J. Poe (wife of the late Harold L. Poe); her brother, James M. Luck III and his wife, Kara Luck; sisters and brothers-in-law Georgia and Jim Riley and Marcy and Walter Caritj; and eight nieces and nephews, James, Lloyd, and Christopher Luck; John and Mary Katherine Poe; Katherine Leo; Jennifer Lupien; and Kerri Cuccobia.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Monticello Memory Gardens. Immediately following the services, the family will receive friends at the home of Elizabeth's mother.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, nurses' aides, technicians, staff, and volunteers of the University of Virginia Cancer Center and Hospice of the Piedmont for their loving, compassionate care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Cancer Center Patient Support Services, Box 800334, UVA Health System, Charlottesville, VA 22908 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road, Suite 2, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
