After living a full, eventful, and courageous life, Frank passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at his home in Purcellville, Virginia at the age of 88, following a long battle with cancer. Frank was born on May 19, 1931, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois to his parents, Frank Arthur Patterson and Dorothy Grace Caulfield. On February 15, 1951, he married Flora Mae Larsen. They are the parents of one daughter and four sons. At age 33, Frank established Motivational Concepts, Inc. through which he taught short courses on sales, customer relations, and communication skills to business leaders nationwide. Frank lived in Charlottesville, Virginia for 53 years, where he served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the office of High Priest. His faith in and love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, was rivaled only by his love for his wife and family and his zest for life. Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years, Flora Mae Larsen; and by his children, Dorothy Karen Phelps (husband, Ronald W. Phelps), Mark Gregory Patterson, Lorin Eugene Patterson (wife, Lori A. Pace), Frank Alexander Patterson (wife, Dana "Bunny" Thurston); and by 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
