Hazel Arline Gibson Hazel Arline Gibson, 72, of Crozet, went to be with the lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born on November 24, 1941, in Charlottesville, she was a daughter of the late Montella and Josephine Houchens Shifflett. She retired from the University of Virginia Medical Center 14 years ago as a Health Unit Coordinator on 4 East. Mrs. Gibson is survived by five daughters, Karen Gibson of Gordonsville, Gina Christopher of Charlottesville, Lisa Walker and husband, Mike, of Greene County, Donna Bryant and husband, Montie, of Scottsville, and Kerrie Gibson of Charlottesville; two sons, William Sullivan Jr. of Charlottesville, and Brian Sullivan of Scottsville; one sister, Faye Shifflett and husband, James, of Ruckersville; two brothers, Carl Shifflett and wife, Linda, of Greene County, and Billy Joe Shifflett and wife, Mary Jo, of Louisa; 11 grandchildren, Chrissy, Adam, Alex, Jake, Lindsay, Sarah, Paul, Taylor, Ivana, Haley, and Nate; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Abagail; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Conney Shifflett and Monty Shifflett. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with interment to follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. Pastor Buster Payne will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, February 1, 2014, at the funeral home.
