Jamarcus Washington Obituary

Jamarcus Brad "Buck" Washington

June 26 1988 - December 27, 2020

On Sunday, December 27, 2020, Jamarcus Brad Washington, affectionately known as "Buck Nasty" to family and friends, passed away at the age of 32, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born on June 26, 1988, at the University of Virginia Medical Center to Lisa Washington and Darnell Burton, both of Charlottesville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie Belle Burton, John L. Burton of Charlottesville, Virginia; great-grandparents, Louise Washington and Irving Washington; and uncle, Brad Washington of Bremo Bluff, Virginia.

Jamarcus "Buck" was a former employee for several years at the SNL Building and The Habitat Store in Charlottesville, Virginia. His primary residence was in Louisa, Virginia but he spent the majority of his life at the South First Street Public Housing in Charlottesville, Virginia. Buck found much delight in spending time with family, friends and people within the neighborhood so much that he was a self-appointed Community Leader. He planned neighborhood cookouts, games and fireworks on Independence Day and also performed volunteer work at Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church. Those who knew Buck even just a little lost a shining light in their lives. He was a special character in his own way with a unique personality and great sense of humor that made people laugh hilariously. His humor was a unique blend of common observations, crazy family life, wit and sarcasm. A few moments with him had you giggling, chuckling and gasping for air. We were all blessed to have heard his homegrown comedy first hand. His favorite colors were red and black and he was an avid football fan for the Houston Texans.

Jamarcus leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Lisa Washington (Ernest) and Darnell Burton of Charlottesville, Virginia; grandparents, Phebie O. "Jean" Seay of Fluvanna, Virginia, and Alonzo Wood of Buckingham, Virginia; his siblings, Konica (Tim), Tiffanie, Datron, Braelynn "Wilma", and Shylek Washington, all of Charlottesville, and Sasha Lee of Richmond, Virginia; his faithful and devoted girlfriend, Katina Mills of Louisa, Virginia; stepdaughters, Taylor Mills and Donajah Green; aunts, Jean Seay-Saylor (Garfield), Tina Burton, Kim Burton, and Tia Shelton; uncles, Harry A. "Bubba" Seay, Demetrius Burton, and Keith Garland and godmother, Gail Timberlake, all of Charlottesville, Virginia; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many, many great friends.

Buck will be missed everyday by his loving parents, siblings, family members, friends and First Street Community.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home, 201 1st St N, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Due to COVID restrictions on public gatherings, please contact the family if you wish to attend the viewing and a time will be assigned to you.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Riverview Cemetery, 1701 Chesapeake Street, Charlottesville, Virginia. The Reverend Alvin Edwards will officiate. Flowers are welcome and can be sent to the funeral home.
