We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
Mom, Megan and I were so fortunate to have you in our lives. We miss you every day and cherish all of the memories you created with us. You will live in our hearts forever. We love you.

Yates Hall

I am Yates Hall, an alumnus (1968) of UVA who played baseball there. I became the head baseball coach at Warren County High School in 1972 and that´s what brought Jimmy into my life. He already had remembered me from playing American Legion Baseball versus the Charlottesville team in the 1963 state championship tournament. It seemed like he knew everyone on that team and his history. Well, Jimmy sold me baseballs and equipment for many years. Each "business trip" was a joyful and informative visit.
I always looked forward to our next meeting as Jimmy had the best memories to review and up to date information about the Charlottesville boys who I had grown to know.
I remember Jimmy as a Great Guy with keen wit, wonderful story teller, and friend.

I worked with Jimmy's mom back in the mid-60's, and she was one of the best people I have ever met. Jimmy was always warm, smiling and the best soul one could ever meet. He was a GOOD man! Sending prayers of comfort and strength to his wife, children, grandchildren, and brother Steve!

Jimmy was an awesome man and a true Charlottesville legend. I met Jimmy while coaching at UVA in the late 80´s and reconnected when I was an administrator in Albemarle County. I saw Jimmy and Ann on several occasions eating dinner at many Cville haunts. Jimmy always had a smile and a story. He was one of those guys that if you had not seen him in a year, he made you feel like you had just seen him last week. He was brutally honest as a salesman and you could take his word to the bank. Rest in Peace my friend. I believe we will meet again! Ann and family are in my prayers.
