John Shelton Obituary
Johnny worked at Murray/Cooper Electric for over 40 years before becoming an all-around handy man. He later spent time working at Kites Ham with his son Rod. While not working, Johnny spent his time in the garden, canning with his late mother or puttering in the building. We know Johnny is now with his mother and brother Doc sitting under the tree.
He is survived by his wife Debra Gibson Shelton; sons, Rodney Shelton and wife Kathy, Joshua Shelton and wife Maggie; grandchildren, Troy Shelton, Christina and Michelle Lecuyer and the apples of his eye, Danielle and Lauren Shelton; brothers, William "Jim" Shelton and wife Anna, George "Hap" Shelton (wife, Agnes Shelton – deceased); sisters, Mary "Sis" Bragan (husband, Arthur Bragan – deceased) Jennie Vaughan (husband, George Vaughan – deceased) and Helen Ward and husband Paul.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February, 15, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Pastor Tammy James. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Moriah UMC, P. O. Box 220, Whitehall, Va. 22987 or Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, 1240 Lee St. Charlottesville, VA 22908.
