Joyce Lee Moses passed away aged 80 in Charlottesville, VA, on Wednesday, October 1st

2025. Born June 4th, 1945, in Charlottesville, VA, to parents, William Johnson and Altie Morris.

She attended Orange County High School and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She loved

the garden at her apartment and feeding all of the stray animals she could; oftentimes adopting

them as her own. She loved to prepare large meals and spend quality time with her family. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She worked at Comdial for 36 years as a telephone

assembler and for three years at Data Visible. She was a firecracker and a beacon of light in her

community.

Preceded in death by her father, William Lewis Johnson; mother, Altie Lee Morris; her first

husband, Samuel C. Dollins; and ex-husband, Raymond Lydaine Moses, as well as her beloved

Chihuahua, Spike and Shih-Tzu, Emily. She is survived by her two sons, Samuel Lee Dollins and

wife Lisa Dollins, William Raymond Moses and wife Julie Moses; Granddaughters, Alysa Marie

Moses, Amya, Taniya, and Rose. Grandsons Samuel and Cory Dollins, TJ, Don, and Michael

Phillips and Noah; And Great Grandchildren, Bentley, Grace, Alex, Ryan, Savanna, Brandon,

and Haley. And one Great-Great-Grandchild, Max; As well as her brothers, Donald, Bill, and

Michael Johnson and sister, Mary Lou Mundy.

Family night will be held Sunday, October 5th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Batten Funeral

Home in Ruckersville, VA. Services will be held at the Southside Church of God at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 6th, 2025. (1807 Avon St. EXT) Graveside services to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in

Dyke VA.

"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles

when my life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times

and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry

before the sun of happy memories that I leave when my life is done."
