Jude Gilliam Obituary

Jude McKay Gilliam, 2, went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 24, 2007.

Jude was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Truett Gilliam of Beirut, Lebanon, and Charlottesville. He was born in Beirut on June 29, 2005.

Jude's brother is Raed and his sisters are Aiya and Jenna. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wehbe of Sydney, Australia, and his uncle is Joel Wehbe of Sydney. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Gilliam Jr. of Charlottesville. His aunt is Ms. Connally Gilliam of Arlington, Virginia, and his aunt and uncle are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Gilliam III of Dublin, Ireland. His cousins are Tommy, Benjamin, and James Gilliam.

Jude is greatly missed for his sweet smile and spunky spirit. He is a treasure in Heaven. His family looks forward to the day when they will be reunited with him. "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these". Luke 18.16.

The family will receive visitors at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3101 Fontaine Avenue, from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2007.

A memorial service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007.

The family suggests memorials be made either to the University of Virginia Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or to caringbridge.org in memory of Jude Gilliam.

Bless your heart, Jude. You had that great Gilliam smile and looked so much like your grandfather Tom. Your family surely cherishes the time they had with you here: may they find peace and strength in your memory.

You turned a time of mourning to worship this afternoon at the memorial service. It is not often that we get to peek into heaven like this. To God be the glory.
