Lillian Keenan Following a short illness, Lillian Keenan, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the Eastern Star Rehabilitation Unit, Oriskany, New York. She was the wife of Donald B. Keenan, also deceased, of Binghamton, New York. Ms. Keenan was born to Leo Hogan and Agnes Knauer, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, on August 8, 1923. She had two sisters, Agnes Brady, Binghamton New York, and Pauline Zakaraskas, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, both deceased. As a teen, Mrs. Keenen and her family relocated to New York State where Mrs. Keenan graduated from Binghamton North High School. During her career, she served as manager of several hotels and restaurants in southern New York State and Florida. While living in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, she and Mr. Keenan developed Keenan Realty. Mrs. Keenan retired to Earlysville, Virginia, where she lived for many years and attended Buck Mountain Episcopal Church. Mrs. Keenan is survived by three loving children, Dr. Joseph and Jennifer Oliver, Earlysville, Virginia, Rita and Dan Goodhines, Remsen, New York, and Terry and Tom Plizga, Deerfield, New York; her grandchildren, Laurie, Beth, Kim, Alex, Patricia, and Jonathan; and great- grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Alexis and Brendon. A service will be held for Mrs. Keenan on Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Court Street, Binghamton, New York, which she attended as a girl and young woman. She will rest next to her husband in Calvary Cemetary, Johnson City, New York. Arrangements are through McDevitt and MacManus Funeral Home, Front Street, Binghamton, New York. Mrs. Keenan will be remembered with great affection by all of her family and friends who loved and respected her and for whom she was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, a tireless advocate, a generous benefactor and a steadfast, loyal support. Rest in Peace mother.
