Kenneth Page Obituary

Kenneth Franklin Page went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence. He was born on January 3, 1929, in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Letterman and Lillian Edwards Page.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, P.T. and Matilda Edwards, parents, and sister Philippa Page Canty.

Kenneth attended Jefferson Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1945. After high school, he attended North Carolina A & T State College, now North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Due to his grandfather, P.T. Edwards, being ill, returned home to help run the family business. Later he was drafted into the military and served two years with the Army. After his military service, he returned to Charlottesville and worked for Thomas Jefferson Inn, Ramada Inn, 20 years with Universal Life Insurance Company, and Nowell's Catering. He was a faithful lifetime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board, the Deacon Board, the Hospitality Committee, the Food Bank, the Usher Board, Men's Fellowship and served as Church custodian. He also attended weekly Bible Study and Sunday School until his illness in 2020. He enjoyed doing everything he could for his church. His love of people, family, and especially GOD was an inspiration to many and he will truly be missed. He worked with the Deacon Deaconess's Council and Youth Department as Youth Advisor, Vice President, and President.

Deacon Page leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sarah Carter Page of 55 years; two daughters, Kim Page Thompson (Sherman) of Troy, VA, and Stephanie Page of Charlottesville; two grandchildren, Lakia R. Thompson and Malachi Muse; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 113 6th St., NW, Charlottesville, VA. He will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. Live Stream YouTube - Ebenezer Baptist Church The Stone of Help.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Mr Page. What a sweet, sweet man. Always the perfect gentleman. I worked at the old Ramada Inn in the Red Stable Lounge in 1977-78. Mr Page was the Matre De at the restaurant there. We became fast friends. Always enjoyed our conversations.
My heart goes out to his family. I know he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. RIP Mr Page
