Kim David Cross

May 20, 1955 - November 14, 2021

Kim David Cross, husband, father, and "Grandaddy", passed away at his home in Charlottesville on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the age of 66.

He is survived by his wife, Nargis; daughters, Jessica Ayres (Tyler) and Anita Giordano (Nick). While those who knew him may have called him a workaholic, his favorite job was that of Grandaddy to Collin, Camden, Luca, and Corinne. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis (Dana), Mark (Denise), Paul (Ivonne); and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anita Cross.

He loved to fish in the sound and the ocean, and in recent years, had cultivated a container garden that he tended to religiously. His handiness, craftsmanship, and work ethic were unmatched. His wife and daughters, his "grils" as he would say, were his biggest source of pride. They always knew how proud he was of them and their growing families. Kim would not hesitate to give someone the shirt off his back.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim's doctor, Mark Niehaus, who he thought so highly of and always went above and beyond to care for him and his family. At this time there will not be a service. The family will hold a private celebration of life at his favorite place, the beach, this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville through their website

We are sad to hear about Kim. We enjoyed our time spent with him while Jessica and our daughter Ashley were in high school and college and shared an apartment in Richmond. He was a joy to work with as a car salesman. We send our prayers and best wishes to your family.

We only knew Kim from our two Honda purchases in 2011 and this past year. Even though we barely knew him, learning about his death has made us very sad. He was such a kind and wonderful person. When we bought the first CRV from him, Sandy said there had to be a way to fit her bike in the car. His good humor and diligence made that happen. So when we were looking for a replacement, we knew who to go to. We will miss him.

I will miss my daily talks with Kim! We worked together for the last 13+ years and I must say we had became close over the years and was truly a pleasure to work with and appreciated his advice on life in general! I never met a stronger gentleman and he will be missed by me and all that knew him! Rip Kim until we meet again!!
