Makell Adams-Reid, 10, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died on July 13, 2021, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Born on March 23, 2011, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, he was the son of Mako and Wydell Adams-Reid. Makell's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Makell understood the importance of family and did everything within his power to ensure that his was well cared for. Makell's interests included video games and space, and he aspired to become an astronomer.
Makell Adams-Reid is survived by his parents, Mako and Wydell Adams-Reid of Charlottesville, Va.; his younger sister, Kagome Adams-Reid of Charlottesville, Va.; his maternal grandparents, Tsukasa and Mariko Shinyashiki of Okinawa, Japan; and his paternal grandparents, Rosalind Adams of Riverdale, Ga., and Wiley Reid of Philadelphia, Penn. Makell is also survived by a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other who were touched by his extraordinary life and loved him dearly.
The Adams-Reid family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who have reached out in support since the passing of Makell.
A public viewing for Makell Adams-Reid will be held from 2 until 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 794 Woodlands Road, Charlottesville, Va.
Makell Adams-Reid will have a memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 21, 2021, at home. A private interment will follow.
