Mildred Skinner Obituary

Mildred Racer Skinner, 83, of Gordonsville, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Orange County Nursing Home.

She was born August 8, 1922, in Madison County.

She was the daughter of the late Elliott William Racer and Susie Ann Clatterbuck Racer; and wife of the late James Sidney Skinner.

Mrs. Skinner was retired from the American Silk Mill in Orange, after many years of service.

She is survived by her son, Ricky N. Skinner and his wife, Pam, of Louisa; her grandson, Jonathan Skinner of Louisa; her granddaughter, Kerri Michelle Skinner of Orange; her sister-in-law, Violet Racer of Orange; and a number of nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Jack, Brooks, Ellis and Dick Racer; and three sisters, Lucy Elvis, Bertha Price and Alice Donald.

A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Graham Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Marshall W. Braylo.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 446, Orange, VA 22960.
