Nancy Ann Engle Regar, 93, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

Born on October 12, 1928, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Nancy was the daughter of the late Albert W. Engle and Huldah M. Riley Engle. She was married to Donald Arthur Regar, who preceded her in death, for 59 years. During their marriage, Don and Nancy lived in Elmira, New York. Brookfield, Ohio, Halifax, Virginia, Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and Charlotttesville, Virginia.

Nancy was a homemaker whose life centered around her home and family. She was known for baking cookies, earning her the family nickname Cookie. Nancy was an active volunteer at her church, local hospital, and children's schools. She was also known for her long service as a volunteer pollworker on election days. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles, bridge, and other card games.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Nicely of Charlottesville, Va., Barbara Felker and her husband, Thomas, of Charlottesville, Va., and Donna Price and her husband, Daniel, of Norfolk, Va. She leaves five grandchildren, Adam Felker and his wife, Shane Somerville, of Everett, Wash., Sydney Felker of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marc Maupin and his wife, Kristan, of Santa Paula, Calif., Kody Bailey of Norfolk, Va., and Kerry Bailey, of Norfolk, Va. She also leaves great-grandchildren, Charlotte and John Somerville-Felker of Everett, Wash., and Eleanor Maupin of Santa Paula, Calif.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date. The family thanks the caregivers at The Newton and Wilma Thomas Hospice House for their compassionate care of Nancy during her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
