Peggie Tiller Lumsden of Charlottesville, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, surrounded by family in her home.

Born on June 1, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama, Peggie was a graduate of Cocoa High School in Cocoa Beach, Fla. and attended California State University, San Bernardino. She held many positions throughout her career including Administrative Assistant at Church of Our Savior, Blue Ridge Home Builders Association, and Stedman House. Peggie was very active in church, she served as president of the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) and was a lector and lay Eucharistic minister.

Peggie was an avid painter and loved to draw; she was heavily inspired by her many travels. She had a great love of food and was an excellent culinary artist. One of the highlights of her life has been spending time with her seven grandchildren telling stories, going to the beach, eating boiled peanuts, and watching the sunrise.

Peggie is preceded in death by her oldest son, James Charles Lumsden. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Lumsden; her children, Tim Lumsden and Leslie Lumsden; daughter-in-law, Patty Lumsden; son-in-law, Scott Sanderford; seven beloved grandchildren, James Burris, Jordan Burris, Taylor Sanderford, Lily Sanderford, Grace Lumsden, Audrey Lumsden, and Gwendolyn Lumsden.

A memorial service to celebrate Peggie's life will be held at Church of Our Savior, 1165 Rio Road E., Charlottesville, VA 22901 on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. Internment will immediately follow the service, also at Church of Our Savior.
