Phillips R. Obituary
Raymond Randolph Phillips, 85, of Charlottesville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Born on February 7, 1932, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Clara Patterson Phillips and Forrest A. Phillips. He was also predeceased by his wife, Jane B. Phillips; and their daughter, Debra J. Phillips M.D. Mr. Phillips owned a construction supply company. He and his wife were the benefactors of the Phillips Cancer Center, which they did to honor their daughter. Special thanks to his loyal friend, Angela Velasquez; his caregivers, Margaret Carter, Sharonda Fortune, and Debbie Cooper, as well as his other caregivers; and to his Hospice nurse, Malisa Lacy. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Riverview Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Mr. Phillips request. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911, www.hopva.org, Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 160, Charlottesville, VA 22902, or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to www.hillandwood.com
