Robert Quarles Obituary

Robert Willis Quarles Jr., 96, of Gordonsville, Virginia, departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2007, at his residence. He was the eldest son of the late Robert W. and Betteen Smith Quarles.

Robert was a retired employee of C & O Railroad, an Army Veteran of World War II, he also served on the Deacon Ministers and Layman Union at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, and was a former member of the local Masonic lodge.

He is survived by two sisters Madeline Maddox of Bronx, New York and Bernice E Quarles of Gordonsville, Virginia; six nieces, three nephews and a host cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church located on Lindsay Road, Gordonsville, Virginia, with the Reverend Dr. George W. McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Arrangements are with Thomasson Watson Funeral Service Inc.
