Ronald Marshall Obituary

Ronald Martin Marshall

July 13, 1956 - January 2, 2025

Ronald M. Marshall, age 68, of Buckingham Virginia, passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on July 13, 1956, to Anna Mae Pleasants Marshall and Calvin E. Marshall. His early work was with C & O Railroad but made his career in security work at UVA, Charlottesville Mall, Kmart, Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, and medically retired from Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women. Everyone who worked with him speaks highly of what a good man he was, one who never raised his voice and did his job very well. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Mae and Calvin Marshall; sister, Judy Marshall Payne; and his beloved dog, Beefy; and stepson, Gregory Mast. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Marshall; daughter, Jessica Marshall of Dillwyn, Virginia; twin brother, Robert Marshall of Charlottesville, Virginia; two loving granddaughters, Breanna and Audrey Marshall. And Linda Marshall of Scottsville, Virginia; five stepchildren, Wendel Mast (April) of Louisa, Virginia, Monica Carter of Scottsville, Virginia, Travis (Corinne) of Mohrsville Pennsylvania, Jeremy Mast of Buckingham, Virginia, Amy Rice (Tyler) of Williamston, North Carolina; 9-step grandchildren, Aunt's, Uncle's, Cousin's and lots of In-laws. Ronald loved anything that pertained with guns and knives, and caring for his beloved bulldog Beefy. He loved his church family at New Life Assembly of God in Farmville Virginia. Ron had a heart of gold, quick to say I love you, and I'm sorry. Ron suffered the past 4 years, and now is dancing on those Streets of Gold, with his beloved Beefy. He always said do not go to bed angry, because you won't sleep well! He passed very peacefully with his wife by his side.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at New Life Church, 9 Mahan Road, Farmville, Virginia, where services will be held at 3:00 p.m. with a family reception at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Steiner Family Cemetery, Mainstem Road, Pantego, North Carolina.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home, 1400 South Main Street, Blackstone. Online condolences may be made at www.hamnermcmillian.com.

I knew Ronnie and Robert from our days at Lane High School. I am so sorry for the loss of his loved ones, especially Robert. I know how close a twin can be.
He is now in a better place and reunited with Beefy and his parents, and he will now live on in our memories.
