Sadie Johnson Obituary
Sadie Bernice Johnson was called home on Monday January 17, 2022, at the age of 97. She was born in Louisa, Va., on October 23, 1924., She was the daughter of the late Harry Lee Brooks and Emma Harris Brooks.
She joined Thessalonia Baptist Church at a young age and was a faithful member until her health began to decline. She was educated at the Louisa Training School. She was a Homemaker and spent most of her life caring for her children, grandchildren, and children of the community.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Johnson; son, John Edward Johnson Sr.; and siblings, Ulysses Brooks, Mary K Daniels, Louise Robinson and Nathaniel Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Adell Hembry, Eloise Satchell (T. Wayne), and Joanne Johnson; two siblings, Alberta Johnson and Harry Lloyd Brooks; four grandchildren, John Johnson Jr. (Yolanda), Clinton Johnson, Stephanie Morris (Nathan), and Natasha Johnson; five great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 2 until 7 p.m. at Satchell's Funeral Service, 118 E. Church Street, Orange, Va. Ten people will be allowed inside at a time. Masks will be required.
A graveside service will be held 12 p.m. Monday January 24, 2022, at the Johnson Family Cemetery, 2864 Yanceyville Rd., Louisa, Va. Masks will be required.
Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Satchell's Funeral Service, Inc. of Orange, Va.
