Sally Rogers Obituary

Our mother, our sister, our friend, Sally Lewis Rogers Williamson left us too soon on Saturday, September 15, 2007, as the result of a car accident.

We are comforted by envisioning her happily reunited with her parents, Kenneth and Millie Rogers; her dear, special grandmother, Mildred Wesson Lewis; her beloved husband, Bruce Reynolds Williamson; and her cherished dog and 'best friend' Sebastian.

Sally was born on February 15, 1955, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia.

After raising a little bit of heck at Albemarle High School with her life friends Lucinda Ewell, Carolyn McCauley and Dwight Foster, Sally went to East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, where she earned a BS Degree in Nursing and the lifelong friendships of Billie Jo Parsley and Kay Landry. She was a selfless nurse and will be missed by her patient and friend, Michael Kerr. Laura Henderson, Crissy Sanford, and especially Bo Pleasants were also people important to Sally and will miss her terribly.

Sally shared two great children, Ben and Carraway, with their father, Harry Craig Hardy. Sally's son Benjamin Craig Hardy, his fiancée, Elena Rose Nunez and Sally's daughter, Susan Carraway Hardy are bravely coping with the loss of their mother.

Sally's sister, Susan Rogers Kennedy; her nieces, Wesley Jane Kennedy and Jamie Lee Kennedy and their dad, James Milliken Kennedy; Sally's brother, Kenneth Craig Rogers; her sister-in -law, Denise Law Rogers, her nephews, Caleb Lee Rogers and Connor Paxson Rogers; her extended family, and her friends all grieve the loss of mother, sister, friend.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2007, at the Church of Our Saviour with the Reverend James H. Cunningham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Almost Home Pet Adoption Center, 29 Stagebridge Road, Lovingston, VA 22949.

Friends may sign the guest register at teaguefuneralhome.com.

Dearest Susan,
I am thinking of you and your family and holding you in my heart as you grieve the loss of your sister. I didn't know Sally but can only imagine some of the lively stories of her life...seeing as how she grew up with you as her sister. I hope to hear some of those stories one day.
All my best and much love,
Valerie Goodman

Sally was my sister Lucinda's best friend in high school, and they were quite the pair of free spirits! Nevertheless, I often let them babysit my little boy, and he grew up perfectly fine, haha. What I remember most about Sally is her great laugh. Goodbye, girl, you left us too soon.
