Jeffrey Jennelle "Jeff" Scott, 61, of Scottsville, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born on September 19, 1955, in Marion, Virginia, the son of Cornelia (Wolfe) Scott Webb and the late Harry Jennelle Scott. Jeff was a member of Marion Baptist Church. He was employed as a Broadcasting Engineer at NBC 29 in Charlottesville, where he worked for over 20 years. He enjoyed tinkering with electronic and broadcasting equipment and spending time in his music studio. He also enjoyed camping, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, Cornelia Webb and her husband, William of Lynchburg; survivors include his longtime companion, Anne Gaulding of Scottsville; a sister, Amy Hassenpflug and husband, Leon of Lynchburg; a half-brother, David Scott of Lynchburg and his mother, Gail Scott of Oxford, Florida; two nieces, Rachel Hartline and husband, Beau of Dodgeville, Wisconsin and Madeline Hassenpflug of Lynchburg; and a number of other extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by the Reverend James O. Radford. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m., Monday evening, January 23, 2017, at the funeral home.
