Virginia Ann "Jenny Ann" Thompson, 84, of Lovingston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, June 17, 2016.Born July 23, 1931, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Kidd and Virdie Thompson Kidd. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Arthur Lee Thompson in March 2016; a brother, Joseph A. Kidd; and two sisters, Alice K. Pierce, and Frances K. Harding.She is survived by her son, David Lee Thompson (Deb) of Lovingston; her daughter, Clara T. Fortune (Daniel) of Arrington; grandchildren, Jeremy (Lauren), Marc (Nicolle), and Amanda and fianc?, James; four great-grandchildren, Cooper, Hayley, Rylie, and Niam, as well as several nieces and nephews.Jenny Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, her church, her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and she especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Sunbeams classes at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed documenting special events, memories and genealogical information for family and friends. Her home and heart was always open to family, friends and visitors.A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Lovingston. Pastors David Christian and John P. Campbell will be officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6until 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, Va.Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Ridgecrest Baptist Church or the Nelson County Rescue Squad.Arrangements are under the direction of Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, Va.
