Alan Bone Obituary
AGE: 62 ? Wharton
Alan D. Bone, Sr. passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital/Dover following a heart attack, he was 62. Born in Morristown, he was a lifelong resident of Wharton. Mr. Bone was a quality control inspector and worked for M.E.S. Services at Picatinny Arsenal overseeing building construction. He had previously owned and operated Common Vending Machine for 20 years and had worked as a bartender at Wharton Mall Lounge & Liquors for fourteen years. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. Al was a life member of the Wharton American Legion Post 91 served on its color guard and held the office of Commander twice. He was also a member of the V. F. W. Post 3401 of Morris Plains and the 40/8 Voiture #228 of Morris County. He was active with the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 91, Wharton and the Legion baseball team as well as chairman of the Wharton American Legion Scholarship Fund. Survived by his wife: Carol (Clark) Four Children: Deanna Kerr and her husband Sean; Jennifer Hamilton and her husband; Scott of Morris Plains; Alan D. Bone, Jr. and his wife; Kathryn of Stanhope David Howard of Wharton Sister; Carole Call of Buffalo, NY Four Grandchildren; Sean Kerr, Jr. and Hailey Pie Kerr Brennan and Brayden Bone Cousin; James Knutsen and his wife; Margee of Mt. Tabor. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday and Monday 4-8 PM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St. Wharton. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers donations in Al's memory to the Wharton American Legion Post 91, 99 N. Main St. Wharton, NJ 07885 will be appreciated. Offer condolences at www.BerminghamFH.com
