David Matthews Obituary
AGE: 52 • Chester
David Joseph Matthews, D.M.D. of Chester, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morristown. He was 52. Beloved husband of Laurie (Myers) Matthews, and devoted father of two beautiful daughters, Abigail and Megan. The youngest of four, David was born in Rahway, NJ on August 16, 1963 to Lillian (Colbas) Matthews, and the late Robert L. Matthews. Dear brother of Lorraine (Matthews) Antosiewicz, Raymond Matthews, and the late William Matthews, Sr.
David opened his Dental practice in Far Hills in 1990. He enjoyed his work and was committed to providing each patient with exceptional dentistry. He was a man who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to it's fullest. He loved football (Patriots & 49ers), listening to music, piano and singing. He had his pilot's license and loved skiing, running, motorcycles, history and politics.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David's Life Celebration on Saturday, January 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester (908) 879-3090. A Prayer Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you please consider donating to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration online at www.theaftd.org or envelopes will be available at the memorial service.

To the Matthews Family,
I can’t believe 5 years have passed. I think of Dave frequently and remember the fun times we had, as we were all so much younger then. Dave was right out of dental school when I met him and started working for him. I’ll never forget the seminars we attended in Newark and how we were almost thrown out of them What a fun time.
I continue to keep all of you in my prayers.

Dear Lorraine and the entire Matthew family,
I was very saddened to hear of Dave's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time.
I will always remember all the good times we had as Dave was just starting up his practice and I remember his 30th birthday party at your house. Keep all your good memories close at heart.
