Donovan Miles Allieri

Boonton Twp. - Donovan Miles Allieri of Boonton Township, passed away at home on July 23, 2021. Donovan was a kind-hearted, warm soul and was a friend to many. He was 29.

Born November 30th, 1991 in Morristown, Donovan attended Rockaway Valley School and Boonton schools and was a graduate of Mountain Lakes High School, where he played football and was a member of the 2008 and 2009 North 1 Group 1 New Jersey state championship teams. Donovan was at the height of his game in his childhood and teen years, excelling in football, basketball and baseball. His athletic talents were unmatched and truly unreal.

Donovan lived most of his years in New Jersey and enjoyed spending time with his family, and his mother, Susan, his closest friend and confidant, and his beloved cat, Stoney Bob. As a child, Donovan's talents on the court and field were only matched by his charismatic smile and huge heart. Donovan was often checking in on friends and family, and serving as a reliable shoulder and listening ear for many people in need, without judgement or reservation.

Donovan grew up in Boonton Township, Boonton and Parsippany, and amassed a huge assortment of wonderful friends. Donovan was the kind of guy who never met a stranger. Whether you were seven or seventy, and lived in the area, you probably knew Donny and had received one of his famous hugs. He was a favorite student to teachers and bright spot for many on cloudy days.

Sadly, the light in Donovan's heart was compromised by the shadow of addiction. Donovan struggled with the illness for several years, an illness that far too many families know. His heartbroken mother and immediate family take some small solace in knowing he is finally at peace.

Visitation for Donovan will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the Dangler Lewis and Carey Funeral Home, 312 West Main Street, Boonton, NJ 07005.

Donovan is survived by his mother Susan and his grandmother, Onnolee, both of Boonton Township, and his uncles, David, Paul and Chris, and aunt, Allison, and their spouses, Mark, Maureen, Samuel and Michael. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Carl. Donovan was a loving cousin to Stephanie, Emily, Carly, Anna, Abigail, and Michael. He is also survived by his father, Darius Hudgins of Scotch Plains.

Donovan's Instagram bio reads, "Heart of Gold, #PaintoPurpose, NJ born, Spread Positivity, Spread Love and #BelieveThe Hype." We do believe that Donovan's life and story have great purpose.
