Eileen Patricia "Pat" Cadden passed away peacefully on November 3, surrounded by her family, after a very brief illness.

Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1927 to parents Thomas and Sarah, who came to this country from England in 1920. She grew up in Englewood, NJ, attended St. Cecelia High School, and graduated from Chestnut Hill College in 1949 with a degree in English. She then obtained a degree in Education from William Paterson College and taught in the primary grades until she had children.

While at Chestnut Hill College Pat met her future husband John Cadden; they married in 1953 and in 1962 settled in Morris Plains, NJ where they raised their three children. Pat returned to teaching in 1970 and taught first and second grades in the Morris School District (Sussex Avenue and Alfred Vail Schools) until she retired in 1990.

Pat and John spent their next years at their homes in Avalon, NJ and Palm Harbor, FL. While she enjoyed reading, following the NY Giants and catching up with old friends, the joy of Pat's life was spending time with her children and especially her granddaughters, who spent much time with her during summers in Avalon.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Thomas and Sarah Ellen ("Nellie") Casey, and sister Veronica Hobens. She is survived by her three children, Jack Cadden (Jeanne), Colleen Ginna (William), and Linda Jean Gibson (David) and her daughters Casey and Colleen Hopkins, who will all miss her very much, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
