Hettie "Louise" Hollands Zwingle

Hettie "Louise" Hollands Zwingle, a longtime resident of Morristown, NJ, and formerly of Hornell, NY, died on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at her current residence - Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge, NJ. Born on July 29, 1919, in Paonia, Colorado, she was the daughter of Hettie and Walter Hollands. She moved with her family to Hornell, NY when she was 10 years old. She graduated with honors from Elmira University in 1941 and moved to Manhattan. She was employed with the Office of Scientific Research and Development, Washington DC, during WW2 from 1942 to 1946. After the war she was employed by Bambergers in Newark, NJ where she held the position of Personnel Director. She met and married Edward Fox Zwingle, a WW2 Army veteran, in 1948 and they settled in Morristown to raise their family.
Louise was very civic minded and involved with many organizations in Morristown. She served on the Board of Education and was President from 1968 to 1970. She was a founding member and served on the Board of Historic Speedwell, as well as the Board of the former Richmond Fellowship organization. She was employed as the Regional Director for Planned Parenthood, Morristown for 14 years, and the Library in the Planned Parenthood facility on Speedwell Avenue is dedicated to her. She was on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross and the Visiting Nurses Association. She was also active with St Peter's Episcopal Church in Morristown; she served as President of the Women of St. Peter's Church from 1962-1964, and participated with Meals on Wheels.
Louise was pre-deceased by her husband of 42 years - Edward - in 1990. She was also pre-deceased by her daughter - Faye Hollands "Holly" Zwingle Mooney. Louise is survived by her son Christopher Fox Zwingle of Long Valley, NJ. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Niki Fenske of Budd Lake, NJ; David Zwingle of Murray Hill, NJ, and Matthew Zwingle of Long Valley, NJ. She is also survived by one great grandson - Marcus.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on August 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge, NJ. Internment will be at the Hollands-Zwingle family gravesite in Hornell, NJ. The family asks that you make contributions to the Neighborhood House in Morristown, NJ in lieu of flowers.
