John Mayenzet Obituary
AGE: 62 • Denville
John 'Rocketman' Mayenzet passed away on Monday, October 19th 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 62. John was born in Dover and lived in Denville all his life. He was in the United States Army and National Guard for 26 years serving with A-Troop 5th and 117th Calvary before retiring in 2008. John worked in Maintenance for the White Meadow Lake POA in Rockaway Township. He was a member of the American Legion Post 344 in Rockaway Township.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, John A. and Margaret (nee-Smith) Mayenzet. Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Diane M. (nee-Baysa); his loving son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jessica Rey of Jefferson; his dear sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Martin Ward of Sanford, N.C.; and he is also survived by 'Pappy's Pride and Joy, his grandsons, Mason and Carter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 5:00p.m. on Friday, October 23rd 2015 at the American Legion Post 344. 210 Chestnut Terrace, Rockaway, NJ 07866. I came to know John through American Legion Post 344 and our common service in the NJ National Guard. His infectious laugh and smile could always brighten my day, even if it had been a stressful one. His presence at Post 344 will be sorely missed andby all who knew him. You have my sincerest condolences during this time.
