Joseph A. Carducci, Jr.

Stanhope - Joseph Anthony Carducci, Jr. died on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was 79.

Born in Astoria, Queens, NY to the late Joseph and Kathleen Carducci, he was raised in Netcong and lived there for 33 years before moving to Stanhope over 40 years ago.

Dr. Carducci was a School Administrator in the Mt Olive School District for over 30 years. Additionally, he served on the Stanhope & Lenape Valley Boards of Education with combined service of over 20 years. He was a proud member of the Netcong Sports Club.

Joe was a gentle, enthusiastic individual who loved people. He was a dedicated educator whose career spanned from elementary to graduate studies. He was known for his quick wit and his selflessness in always wanting to help others.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Carducci Unangst. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Carducci; his daughter, Erin (Michael) Monaco; his grandson, Michael Joseph Monaco; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 11 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main Street, Netcong. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at Stanhope Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Nurses Foundation Covid Response Fund.

I got to know Joe when he was an adjunct at Centenary College. He was a terrific person who always had a smile on his face. And seeing him in the office always made me smile. He was a special man. RIP Joe.
