What can be said about a man who knows nothing about you but offers everything he has with an open hand and heart. Words cannot describe how deeply we felt Joe’s caring and sharing soul. Karen and I came to the bluegrass scene in 2008. Joe and Dottie, immediately made us feel like family, joined by our love of the music. Yearly he opened his home to the greatest get togethers on the planet. We will alway cherish the times we had with this loving heart. God bless you, Joe. Thank you for everything. When we meet again you and I can sing “The ‘52 Vincent Black Lightning” song together. Karen and I love you and Dottie so much.

Joey taught kindness and care by the example of his life. I met him long ago, and was touched by his open kindness, and acceptance, and loyalty. He also knew every word to many songs, you just knew he loved music. Rest in peace, Joe Sullivan, you made this world a better place.

Joe was a friend whom I looked forward to seeing riding up on his golf cart to join us around a camp fire or jam sitting a while, joining in conversation easily, then back to his golf cart moving on to the next group of people to sit with for a while!
He always had a warm friendly smile for everyone and was always there with a helping hand when needed no matter what the job.
Joe will be remembered and sorely missed by many for years to come!

Joe was like a brother to me for the limited time we new each other. For some weird reason he called me big Joe yet I am like a foot or more shorter. I learned all the history of Gentle Winds from him and was really looking forward to spending the winter months at Gentle Winds with him and Dottie in 2 years. I will miss are times sipping coffee in the mornings and watching for turtles and hatchlings at night. Marsha and I are deeply saddened . You will always be in our Hearts Lil Joe! Miss you Brudda.

John and I are truly heartbroken over hearing the news of Joe‘s passing. He was one of the first people that we met at Gentle Winds when we purchased our place. He was kind and loving and always willing to lend a helping hand. He often spoke of his love of bluegrass music and when we last saw him in March he was looking forward to going home. Dottie, we send you our heartfelt sympathy. May you soar with the Angels Joe, you are greatly missed.

Joe it always made me happy to see you ride up to my house on your golf cart in the morning with a smile on your face and a hearty Good Morning to me and have a cup of coffee. I can't ever remember a time you didn't offer to help us with something or when you would bring your truck up so Jr. could listen to music on sirus radio. It will never be the same without you but always remember we LOVE YOU and will miss you dearly!

I know you're looking over my shoulder as I type this. You started out as a friend Joe..and you then became my Brother. A Brother I will miss everyday until we meet again. I asked this morning as I sat in my pickup before work..that Jesus let YOU be my Guardian Angel because we've shared so much in our conversations and just laughing and joking around. I know you're with me everyday and I'm so glad that we were in each others life here on earth. Lily and I Love You alot , but of course..you know that already. Look down on us from time to time and save us a place beside you. Give me a hug from time to time to calm me when I start to cry like I'm doing now. Love You Mr. President...My Dear Friend....My Brother....Joe..!
