Lawrence Bannat Obituary
Jefferson
Construction entrepreneur/Harley Rider, Larry Bannat, of Jefferson Township, suddenly entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2012. After graduating from Pope John XXIII High school, he worked in the family plumbing and excavating business, which he eventually took over in 1984. His life was one of excitement and new adventures, engaging in sport and activities with his family and friends. His most treasured time was spent with his beloved wife and children. Coaching his children in their activities of football and basketball gave him the greatest pleasure. He loved scuba diving, skydiving, sailing and raising koi. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife Melanie, taking many trips around the country. In the spur of the moment he would convince Melanie to pack her bag for another world adventure. Experiencing different cultures gave him great joy. He also would fondly recall week long trips to Yellowstone and Yosemite with his brothers and their wives. A great father, devoted husband and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Melanie 29 years; children Brian and Kimberly; his favorite dog Oscar; his brother Ed of Annapolis, Maryland and his brother Steven of Oak Ridge, NJ.
Visitation Sunday, December 9, 2012, 2 to 6 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service will be Monday, December 10, 2012, 10 a.m. also at the funeral home.

For you Melanie,Brian, Kimberly, Steve Michele and the rest of the family,and of course Oscar. The words I tried to say became hard,so I had to write them again. It is called The Broken Chain. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly,in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you,you did not go alone;for part of us went with you,the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories,your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you,you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken,and nothing seems the same.But as God calls us one by one,the chain will link again. Dear Melanie, Brian and Kimberly... Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. Larry was an amazing person.. One you never forget, that's for sure:).. We lost Chip suddenly back in August while on vacation in Aruba.. I can feel your pain.. The memories we had with your family... the girls playing softball together for years.. the pool parties after the games..and the one memory of Larry I'll never forget during our trip to Okemo Vermont when he called our condo at 7:30 in the morning and yelling into the phone "Where are you guys? I'm up on top of the mountain waiting for you!!".. the only problem I had was it was 20 degrees below zero and very windy... His reply to me was "This is awesome!" That's how we remember Larry. I'm sure him and Chip are planning something exciting already:) Please don't hesitate to call me. Even if you just need a shoulder to lean on. I know it feels like the pain you're feeling will never go away but it will ease up and be replaced by happy memories you had together in all your years as husband and wife. Please get in touch with me. I know Lisa has reached out to Kim already. Try to take it a minute at a time Mel... that helped me alot.. Again, we are praying for you and your family.

Larry was a kind, caring person with everyone and would always help people in need even at his own expense. I personally witnessed many kind things Larry did when working with him and later enjoyed skiing with Larry. He will surely be missed by many. I am really sorry for this loss and can only think God needs him for a special job! Maybe that job is to still keep a smile on everyones face as he always did, in good times and bad. God Bless!
