Mr. Arnheiter was my homeroom teacher at Copeland Middle School in 1979-1980. I later saw him often for many years at Morris Knolls HS, where he coached track and I coached baseball. Lyle always had a positive attitude and a kind word to say. He will be missed. My condolences to Mrs. Arnheiter and the entire Arnheiter family.

There are some people who make a difference in child's life. For some teachers...it's a job, and then there are spectacular teachers. Mr A was one of them. I was a middle school girl in his wood shop class (full of mostly boys!). It was a little intimidating. Mr A always made me feel like I was right where I belonged. I loved his classroom and I looked forward to each project. He always had a smile on his face and and an experience in life to share with us. I wish I knew where my wooden spice rack was (one of my favorite projects). The class projects are long lost, but the memory of him will live on forever in my childhood memories. Thinking of his family and sending my sympathy.

I have such wonderful memories of Mr.A from Copeland. Even though he never taught me (officially), he always was so pleasant and supportive of all the students, teaching by example. I know he will be missed. My condolences to Mrs A and the family.

Mr. A was a gentleman in all aspects of his life! In his class we would hear about all his outdoor adventures and sometimes get a frozen fish for a job well done. By the way, he could really hum a softball! I still have the “Uneven Book Rack” we made in his class. I’d say it aged pretty well, it’s 48 years old now. Love and prayers to you and your family Mrs. A. He was a great guy that created a lot of memories for many!

I was his student at Copeland middle school around 1973. He was an amazing woodworking teacher. I practice many of the skills I learned from him. He encouraged me to run cross country and track at Morris Knolls HS, which I did.

What a man.. He changed my life and I couldn’t wait to talk with him everyday about trapping and fishing in the hall at Copeland. Later in life we trapped and hunted here and there. My calling was to run big traplines out west NM, WY, MT, TX I never forgot the life lessons he shared with the class. Very few teachers took the time to understand the kid I was, but his shop class wasn’t just a class it was the foundation that made me who I am today. Rest in peace Lyle, I don’t know if he knew how many lives he touched.
