Margaret Fenton Haynes, beloved wife of Joseph Michael Haynes and adored mother of seven children, died Thursday February 10th at her home in Morristown, NJ after a long illness. Margaret was born in Hoboken, the eldest child of James and Sarah Fenton and grew up in Newark, NJ. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Daniel Fenton. She attended St. Rose of Lima School in Newark, Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English from The College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ. She studied for her Master's Degree at Columbia University. She met her husband, Joseph while they were both in high school and married him in 1948 after he returned from serving in the army during World War Two. In April of this year they would have celebrated their sixty third wedding anniversary. After she graduated from college, she became a teacher and taught high school students at St. Cecilia's in Englewood and in the Newark school system. She left teaching to raise her seven children but returned to it years later as a substitute teacher in Morristown High School. She and her husband Joseph raised their children in Morris Plains and she was a communicant for more that fifty years at St. Virgil's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Rosary Society, an Election worker, and a lifelong volunteer for many groups. Until eight years ago, worked as her church's volunteer coordinator for its homeless ministry in conjunction with Interfaith Council for Homeless Families. She was part of a circle of friends who played bridge together for thirty years. She also treasured reading poetry and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Joseph and his wife Maryanne of Cincinnati, OH, Anthony and his wife Diane, Convent Station, NJ, Mary Elizabeth Boniakowski and her husband Joseph of Green Brook, NJ, Margaret O'Kane and her husband Kevin of Montclair, NJ, Patricia Carter and her husband Nick of Morris Plains,NJ ,Peter Haynes of New York, NY Christopher and his wife Maria of Bloomfield, NJ. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren and is lovingly remembered by her nephew Dennis O'Keefe and his wife Denise and their two children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Virgil's Church, Morris Plains, NJ on Monday at 10:00AM. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Hours of visitation at the Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Ave., Morristown on Sunday from 2-5PM.
